Our Goal

Our goal is to encourage and promote the interests of individual members and individual clubs in better horsemanship, showmanship, and sportsmanship. MAWHC has achieved this goal for 63 years.

INTRODUCTION TO MAWHC

MAWHC shows have lead line, pee wee, youth, and adult classes. We also have walk trot classes for beginner riders or green horses. Several shows offer HRH (Handicap) classes. Our shows are very friendly and relaxed with an emphasis on having fun. There is overnight camping and stalls at most of the show grounds. Several times during the show season we have potluck dinners and other activities. We are a family oriented club and our open shows have something for the whole family.

Pee Wee Exhibitors may not show in any other riding classes.

Junior Exhibitor age is age of exhibitor as of January 1st of that show year.

History of Our Club

The Michigan Association of Western Horse Clubs was established in 1946 in Southwestern Michigan. We are a non-profit organization and our membership consist of persons united by a common interest in horses.


As a member you will receive a copy of our rule book and you will receive a newsletter each time it is printed telling you when and where our next meeting will be held. We even run classified ads. The newsletter will keep you informed of any up coming events and horse shows.  At the beginning of the show season we put together a booklet with copies of our show bills for our shows. These are distributed at our meetings, tack sales and can be mailed to you at your request.  We also have convenient downloads of the showbills, just click on the webpage marked MAWHC Showbills. You can also download our membership and horse nomination forms.  All of our shows are OPEN to the general public, you do not have to be a member to attend.  We look forward to meeting you and would like to hear your ideas and input.
